- Go to the Home screen of the mobile device and then click on ‘Mail’ followed by ‘Menu’. Click on ‘More’ and then ‘New Account’.
- Account type should be ‘Other (POP3/IMAP)’ and select Manual setup to enter the following details –
Protocol – POP
Email address – Hotmail address
Username – Hotmail username
Password – Hotmail password
POP server – pop3.live.com
Security type – SSL
Server Port – 995
- Click ‘Next’ and then enter the email details correctly –
SMTP Server – 587
Security Type – select none
Security type - TLS
Server port – 587
- Finally click ‘Save’ and then ‘Close’. User can now access the Hotmail account of the android phone.
Another common problem that the Hotmail user faces is to recover the Hotmail email account password. It is not possible to recover the same email account password but one can reset the email password to recover the Hotmail emails. Here are the steps to reset the Hotmail email password –
- Click on ‘Can’t access your account?’ on the Hotmail login page and select the radio button of ‘I forgot my password’.
- Click ‘Next’ to move forward.
- Enter the email account details in the next page and again click on ‘Next’.
- Now choose a process to get the verification code and enter that code in the provided text box.
- User will be now in the password reset page. Create an email account password.
- Login to the email account using the new Hotmail Password Reset and recover the emails.
